Barg, I went to a Catholic high school and, back then anyway, you can't just sign up and get in. You have to have a history of donating to the church and attending services. If this is still the case, would that not create a loophole for Catholic families that would allow them to have an advantage over people of other religions (or no religion) in their area? Wouldn't vouchers force a muslim kid to stay in increasingly financially depleted schools?

Also, any secular private school or prep academy that I have ever seen has had ridiculous tuition rates and are basically reserved for the "elite" kids. I am sure their may be a few exceptions, but that's what I have generally seen.


I see your point of view, but with vouchers you either get a religious option or a privatized, for-profit, option. I don't know about you, but I don't trust corporate America to give a shit about my kids educational development.
