
Sheryl Crow is an American singer-songwriter who blends pop, rock and country into her music. Her father was a trumpet player and lawyer. Her mother, a piano teacher. She went to the University of Missouri in Columbia and earned Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition, Performance and Education.
After college, Sheryl worked as an elementary school music teacher and sang in bands on the weekends. She was introduced to musician and producer Jay Stone who had a studio in his basement. He helped her by using her voice in advertising jingles.
She also toured with Michael Jackson as a backup singer during his 1987-89 Bad World Tour and often performed with Michael on "I Just Can't Stop Loving You".
In 1992, Sheryl recorded what was to be her debut album, but it was rejected by her record label. Her actual debut album, Tuesday Night Music Club was released in August of 1993. It's third single "All I Wanna Do" became a smash hit.
Since then, Sheryl has released 6 albums, two greatest hits albums, a Christmas album, and a live CD. She is also a breast cancer survivor and has an adopted son named Wyatt
